Privacy Policy

Last updated 29 June 2026

BetterPicks ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit betterpicks.org, how we use it, and the rights you have under Australian privacy law.

Usage data and analytics

We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site. These tools collect anonymous information such as pages viewed, time on page, device type, browser, approximate location, and on-page interactions (scrolls, clicks, session replays without personal identifiers). This helps us improve our reviews and recommendations. We do not use this data to identify individual visitors.

Cookies

BetterPicks uses cookies and similar technologies for analytics, to remember preferences, and to attribute affiliate referrals. You can disable cookies in your browser at any time; some parts of the site may not work as expected if you do.

Contact form

When you submit our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the message you send so we can reply. We do not use this information for marketing and we do not share it with third parties.

Affiliate links

Many outbound product links on BetterPicks are affiliate links. When you click one, the merchant may set cookies or receive identifiers that allow them to attribute a sale back to us. See our Affiliate Disclosure for more.

Third-party services

We participate in several affiliate programs, including Amazon Associates, Awin, Impact, and Commission Factory. When you click an affiliate link, you are subject to that merchant's own privacy policy and cookie practices.

Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect any information we hold using industry-standard practices, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and a vetted hosting provider. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we limit what we collect and retain only what we need.

Your rights under the Australian Privacy Act

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles you have the right to:

  • request access to the personal information we hold about you;
  • request correction of inaccurate information;
  • request deletion of your information where we have no lawful reason to keep it;
  • opt out of our newsletter at any time; and
  • make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe we have mishandled your data.
